Zipline make our awesome woven garments – including our soft 100% organic cotton shorts (with much more to come!)
Based in Chennai, India, Zipline are a small team of 10 (plus 4 part-time / home-based artisans) and specialise in small, responsible production runs, and adhere to very strict sustainable manufacturing processes.
Working only with conscious fabrics (including 100% organic cotton, which is what we use), Zipline also have a very unique dyeing process using azo-free, eco-dyes which they hand-dye in small batches of up to 6 metres. Free from harmful chemicals, this ensures our garments are not only soft on little ones skin but also have the gentlest impact on the environment.
Zipline also work closely with MAD (Madras Association of the Deaf), to provide soft-skills training and a safe rehabilitative workplace to learn soft-skills for vulnerable people with past trauma.

Meet the team
Abdul Basith (home-based dyer)- hand-dyes the fabrics in small batches of up to 6 metres in dyeing pans, Kailash Chauhan (pattern-master) – hand-cuts each of the pieces individually,
Raja and Soniya Daniel (tailors) stitch our garments, Josephine (hearing and speech-impaired artisan) hand-stitches the buttons, and Sara (production manager) quality-checks and controls the full production.
Zipline don’t have loads of fancy accreditations, as that’s just the way it goes with factories... when you aint big, you can’t afford them!
BUT – they are doing all the right things, in all the right ways and that’s a big yes from us
